Baken, P. (1976) studied the importance of the differences between the left and right hemispheres in the management of a “Creative Brain”.

P. Baken stated that “for most people, one of the two hemispheres is dominant in relation to our preferred mode of information processing. This concept of dominance should not be seen as a dichotomy, but rather as a complementarity, in which dominance is distributed across various cognitive abilities between the two hemispheres. A person’s creative progress may face difficulties or may fail if there is a lack of articulation between the two hemispheres. The entire creative process requires an infinite and agile capacity for ‘communication’ between both hemispheres.

Very little is known about the ways in which cognitive processes are represented in the brain. When people are born, they already possess all the neurons they will have, about 100 to 200 billion, and each neuron has about 2,500 synapses. However, the connections that extend between neurons and the ends of the fibers increase during the first years of life, perhaps until adolescence. By around two or three years of age, each neuron has about…” 15,000 synapses; far more synapses than they will have as adults. Synapses, as junctions through which a nerve impulse passes from an axonal terminal to a neuron, muscle cell, or glandular cell, are of great importance in the development of cognitive functions.

In fact, children have a surplus of neurons and synapses that they will need to adapt to their environments. However, only those that are used will survive, and unused neurons will become “unusable.” It is in this context that ALOHA Mental Arithmetic was born, aimed at children aged 3 to 13.

Help transform your child's difficulties in mathematics into an interest in all their abilities.

The human brain is a complex organ that allows us to think, move, feel, see, hear, taste, and smell. It controls our body, receives, analyzes, and stores information (our memories).

The right hemisphere controls the left side of the body, temporal and spatial relationships, analyzes nonverbal information, and communicates emotions. The left hemisphere controls the right side of the body. It produces and understands language.

The ALOHA Mental Arithmetic program’s approach to mental arithmetic promotes holistic brain development and fosters fundamental skills such as problem-solving, memory, concentration, attention, and creativity – essential abilities that reinforce confidence and success in academic and life contexts. Stimulating analytical and creative abilities significantly contributes to the development of both brain hemispheres (right and left). Children thus improve their learning, memorization, concentration, and observation skills.

Your child will learn new ways to develop creativity, multitasking, and time management skills. It increases brain capacity, visibly improves your child’s math skills, and overall academic performance. The ALOHA Mental Arithmetic program gives children the necessary skills to improve academic performance and confidently face life’s challenges.
